Chiropractic
practice is that
branch of health
care that involves
diagnosis and
treatment of the
conditions of
muscles, tendons,
joints and nerves,
particularly of the
spine. Chiropractors
primarily use manual
and physical methods
of treatment,
ranging from
myotherapy and
spinal joint
adjustments to
ultrasound therapy,
rehabilitative
exercises, and
ergonomic advice.
Most chiropractic
patients suffer from
back
pain,
neck
pain and
recurring and
long-standing
headaches.
However,
chiropractors also
treat conditions as
varied as tendonitis
in the shoulder;
tennis elbow;
repetitive strain
injuries including
carpal tunnel
syndrome (CTS) in
the wrist, knee
injuries, and the
pain associated with
osteoarthritis in
the knee; jaw pain
associated with
movement disorders
of the joint of the
jaw (TMJ
dysfunction); and
ankle pain related
to the collapse of
the arch of the
foot.
